1934 Telechron - Gun Metal/Ghost Grey

THE DESIGN

The aim of the design of this watch was to make something elegant yet noticeable. We wanted to whisper clearly, not yell out loud with the design - to make a statement without being too obvious.

The result is a 42mm chronograph watch, with a dial that is built up by different levels, a cut-out date window, simple nipple hour-markers and a chronograph hand that adds just a bit of sport. The Telechron Ghost is made in a muted gray tone-in-tone colorway, only broken by a single dash of 805C neon red, held in a sandblasted gun-metal plated 316L stainless steel case, complete with square pushers and ‘onion’-crown.

THE TELEMETER FUNCTION

The telemeter scale has been used in chronograph watches for close to 100 years, so it is not anything new. However, it is not as common as the tachymeter scale, used to measure speed over a known distance. The telemeter, however, is probably more usable in daily life, but what does it actually do?

A telemeter scale is used for measuring distances in sound. With the telemeter scale a distance can be measured due to a visible and audible event, e.g. during a thunderstorm. The division on the dial is based on the speed of sound in air (340 meters per second). Start the hands in the moment when you see the flash, and stop it when you hear the thunder. The hand tells you how far away the storm is.

WHAT DOES MADE TO ORDER MEAN?

Made to order means only producing the products that are ordered in the given period. Production will start as soon as you have placed your order. Contrary to the traditional process, you are sure to get a special piece, as your watch will be produced upon request and not in a mass production line.

This way, we ensure that there is no excess supply. Only watches ordered between February 1st and 20th will be produced.
