Ji Lee, the creator of the Redundant Clock, once faced a challenge during his time as a graphic design student. Tasked with designing a clock for a class project, he found it difficult to conceive an original idea amidst the myriad of excellent designs already in existence. However, inspiration struck with a seemingly obvious idea, leading to the creation of the Redundant Clock.

After crafting a prototype, Lee captured its image and showcased it on his portfolio website. The clock swiftly caught the public's attention, sparking a flurry of emails from individuals eager to purchase the unique timepiece. The Redundant Clock's popularity soared even further when an admirer shared it on Reddit, where it became a sensation. The design prompted widespread discussion and quickly ascended to the top post within the community, with numerous voices clamoring for its production.

About Ji Lee, the Mind Behind Redundant

Originating from Korea and raised in Brazil, Ji Lee is a designer based in New York City. Recognized by Fast Company as one of America's 50 most significant designers, Lee's works have graced various prestigious platforms, including The New York Times, Time Magazine, Wired, BBC, and The Guardian.

He currently serves as a Communication Designer at Facebook and has a history of creative endeavors as a designer and creative director at Google Creative Lab. Lee is celebrated for his compelling illustrations and public art initiatives and imparts his knowledge as an instructor at the School of Visual Arts.
